Americas Patriotic Employers to be honored on ESGR 2004 Tournament of Roses Parade Float

(Arlington, VA) The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) announced that ESGR will once again sponsor a float in the 2004 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California on New Years Day. The ESGR 2004 Float theme is Americas Employers Orchestrating Freedom". This patriotic float, featuring Uncle Sam and the Liberty Bell, carries a critical theme as it is a salute to all of Americas Guardsmen and Reservists, and it pays a special tribute to their patriotic employers who support their employees who serve the nation in the National Guard and Reserve.

Members of the National Guard and Reserve, along with their families and patriotic employers, will be honored as float riders on the ESGR Float. The ESGR Tournament of Roses Parade Float website is at www.esgrroseparade.org.

Todays United States Military is no less noble than our colonial forefathers who rose up as Minutemen to fight for freedom. ESGR and the Tournament of Roses Parade take great pride in honoring the valiant spirit of these contemporary American Patriots who serve voluntarily in a noble profession to defend our way of life.

We will honor Americas finest citizens, and their supportive employers who make it possible for America to call upon the National Guard and Reserve in the war on terrorism".

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency, established in 1972 the year the United States ended the draft and established the all-volunteer military force. The unique mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain active employer support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the Guard and Reserve as defined by demonstrated employer commitment to employee military service".
