Cashette Launches a Payment-Based Solution for Spam

Cashette, Inc., an innovator in solving the ever-growing spam problem, announced today the launch of its new service at

“The fundamental reason that spam is flooding the email system is that, unlike traditional advertising, it costs almost nothing to send spam,” said Leon Zuo, founder and CEO of Cashette, Inc. “There is a strong economic incentive for spammers to abuse email. Therefore the ultimate anti-spam solution is to simply take away that incentive by making the spammers pay. As the people who receive spam incur the loss of their valuable time, it is only fair to make the advertisers pay those who receive email advertising. That is exactly what Cashette does.”

Cashette users can name their own price for spam. Spammers have to pay the price that users set to send them advertising email, otherwise the spam will not reach the users’ inboxes.

A Cashette account is free and includes a full-featured email account with 10 MB of storage space. The Cashette spam-control service currently works for Yahoo, Hotmail, Cashette and POP3 email accounts.

“I am using Cashette to stop spam for my Hotmail account,” said Maryann Soponvasu, a business systems analyst in San Francisco, who has been a test user for the past four months. “I am very happy with my Cashette service. It is simple and easy to use. My inbox has been completely free of spam and I receive all of the email that I care to receive.”
