Columbus, Ohio -- December 1, 2003 -- Univenture, Inc., the award-winning inventor and manufacturer of media packaging solutions has announced the promotion of Michele Cole to President of the company. Cole had previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Operations for several years.
Michele has been a key player in our growth to date. Im confident that with her leadership, the Univenture team will achieve even higher levels of success," stated Ross Youngs, Univentures Founder and CEO.
Cole joined Univenture in 1992 when the company was in its infancy and had annual sales of less than $1million. Attracted to the companys potential, she brought 12 years of experience in manufacturing process quality control learned while she held various positions at leading companies such as W.R. Grace and RCA.
During her first ten months at Univenture, Cole worked in production learning all aspects of the operational side of the business. Reflecting on this time, Cole stated, The best training ground is when you get your hands dirty and accomplish something. I learned volumes on our production floor early on and Ive used that knowledge ever since to help build our business."
Being an associate in a small company meant wearing a lot of hats. Cole saw an opportunity to further develop the marketing program. Launching newly designed products, developing the company catalog and preparing for trade shows gave her a solid understanding of Univentures products and the solutions they provide to the customer.
It also introduced her to the selling process and she soon accepted a position in Sales. This was new ground for Cole, as she had never been in a sales position before. As nervous as she was initially, it became obvious that selling was something she loved to do. Cole realized, when you have a great product with exceptional quality, operational support, customer service that will knock your socks off, and on top of all that -- a need for the product in the market -- youre going to win big."
Sales took off and soon climbed into the millions with just a hand full of sales staff. During this time, she was promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Univenture was named one of the Inc. 500s Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies" five years in a row. Additionally, Univenture added Manufacturing and Sales operations in both Western North America and Europe.
As the Sales Department matured, Cole turned her attention toward generating internal efficiencies and accepted a new position as Executive Vice President of Operations. Numerous procedural processes that led to significant improvements in production were soon developed and implemented. However, she is most pleased with her accomplishments in personnel development. I couldnt be more proud of my team," stated Cole, when given a challenge, they always exceeded my expectations."
Coles continual contributions to Univentures success has led to her increased leadership within the company. Bringing continuity and constant improvement to Univenture has always been the goal. As a result our team can believe in our process, support our goals and see the results," added Cole. She was promoted to President on September 9 -- her 11th anniversary of joining the company.
