The 264 page novel was released on November 17th and is now available to order online at the Publish America website (www.PublishAmerica.com) or can be ordered at local bookstores. Mr. Beaudry, born in Monroe, Michigan, graduated om Monroe's Jefferson High School in 1967 and entered the U. S. Air Force in 1968. He completed the last eleven years of a 26 year enlisted career at Rickenbacker ANGB, Ohio, retiring in 1996. He is married to the former Linda Bleyaert, also of Monroe. They reside in Blacklick Estates. They have two children and two grandchildren.
Mr. Beaudry is currently employed with The Ohio State University at The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Math and Science as a curriculum acquisitions specialist. Beaudry says, "Now that my family is all grown up and we have grandchildren, I thought it was time to seek a publisher to share this story of Christian love, growth, and yes, even romance."
A Meeting in the Air is set in the fictional town of Ridgemont, in the west-central part of Michigan's upper peninsula. This location is familiar to the Beaudry's because they completed three tours of duty at the now closed K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base near Marquette, Michigan; both communities are cited in the story. The novel depicts the interpersonal relationships of the staff of a small Christian radio station; its owner; the town matriarch; and several others as they encounter and respond to real life challenging situations. The two lead characters, David Post and Trish Ivey meet while involved in the mutual task of getting an FM radio station staffed and on the air while coping with their own personal challenges and desire for spiritual growth.
God's handiwork is readily visible in believable everyday events as David and Trish meet, start their work together, and fall quickly in love in a way that neither of them would have ever guessed.
David and Trish face obstacles to obtaining their life's goals and dreams but force themselves to leave their personal comfort zones and establish Christian maturity. The two are thrust into some of life's unexpected situations where they question their recent decisions and doubt many of their past choices. Yet all the while they strive to develop and nurture a hungry yet growing faith. All culminates in many rapid-fire events that perplex the heart and challenge the soul. Answered prayers and how to look for those answers is vividly portrayed with some emotional twists and squirms that compel the reader from one chapter to the next.
Publish America, a small press company, works mostly with first-time authors who seek not only to get their literary works published but to also work with the publisher by taking an active roll in publicity and promoting book sales.
