Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 3, 2003 --- GradPAC Chairman Shawn N. Olds announced the appointment of Robert B. Murray as Special Events Director of the organization today.
Captain Murray, an Air Force Intelligence Officer since 1996, is currently completing joint advanced degrees after placing his academic pursuits on hold to return to active duty at the Pentagon after September 11, 2001 to take part in strategic planning and intelligence gathering in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
We are excited to have our first non-Academy join the ranks of our staff," said Chairman Olds. It clearly demonstrates that our message continues to resonate with fellow veterans; and as a result, Bob brings a unique and invaluable perspective along with his wealth of military experience."
Originally from Ithaca, New York, Murray grew up in an Air Force family, traveling to more than 40 countries. After graduating from Northwestern University in 1996 with a degree in electrical engineering, Murray was assigned to Osan Air Force Base in the Republic of Korea. Subsequently, he worked as a senior intelligence analyst assigned to the Air Staff at the Pentagon.
In 2000, Murray joined the active Air Force reserves to pursue a joint MA/MBA degree as a Merrill Fellow at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and The Wharton School. He will complete both degrees later this month.
This past summer, Murray worked for Lehman Brothers Investment Banking Division in New York City, where he facilitated several leveraged finance and private equity transactions.
Beyond completing his joint degrees, Murray currently engages in real estate development, develops business plans, and coaches football at an inner city Philadelphia high school.
Murray, son of Fulton County Hospitals chief executive officer of the same name, currently resides with his wife, Suzanne, in the Art Museum district of Philadelphia.
