Portland, OR (PRWEB) December 3, 2003 -- During its first full year of operation, the Association of Language Companies (ALC) has spoken loudly and clearly on how it is helping its growing membership make big advancements on Capitol Hill and in their individual businesses, which provide translation services and information for the government and media on the translation industry. The association, with approximately 40 members from the translation and interpretation industry, is rapidly expanding its membership, yet is still able to offer support and unique peer mentoring programs on a much more personal level than larger industry associations. The ALC is also working as an advocate in shaping legislation and standards that affect the industry.
The up and coming association is making its mark on the industry as it continues to shape its Quality Norms that will serve as a banner for clients of ALC members letting them know they can expect the highest quality products and services from ALC members. New members are encouraged to get involved in setting the standards and helping each other with the everyday business dilemmas affecting their peers.
The benefits of ALC membership are personal and unique and really go hand-in-hand with any other affiliations our members may have," said Gordon McDermott, President of Auracom International, Inc., and a founding member of ALC. ALC membership provides real, quantifiable benefits to language companies from the outset. We provide members with networking and mentoring programs and a forum for the collaboration of ideas in a supportive environment," McDermott added.
The program for the ALCs 2nd Annual Conference, scheduled for June 9-12, 2004 in Washington, DC, is well underway. Discounted membership applications are also being accepted. For more information visit the ALC website at http://www.alcus.org or call
