CHRISTMAS CHARITY GIVEAWAY - FOR EVERY NEW USER THAT SIGNS UP FREE ONLINE GIVEASYOUGET.NET WILL GIVE UP TO 15 TO FIGHT AIDS

Online fundraisers http://www.GiveAsYouGet.net/ offer users the chance to raise money for Marie Stopes International free - by signing up and shopping or searching the web.

(PRWEB) December 4, 2003 - GiveAsYouGet.net, the internet-based charity fundraising organisation today announced its plans to donate up to 15 to help fight AIDS for every new user that signs up online before the 31st December 2003.

The website, launched in October 2003, raises money for charity through advertising partnerships with shops such as Amazon and WHSmith. When users buy products from these shops through links on GiveAsYouGet.net a commission of up to 20% is donated to charity without costing the user an extra penny.

When a user signs up to GiveAsYouGet.net not only can they track how much they personally have raised but they are given the option of entering competitions and participating in surveys, each raising up to 2.50 for charity - and the user need not buy a thing.

Users can also raise money for charity when not shopping by using GiveAsYouGet.net to search the internet. Clicking sponsored links at the top of search results can raise anything up to 1.50p regardless of whether the user goes on to purchase from the advertiser.

"The potential for fundraising is enormous, with over 1 billion spent online last November alone," said Jonny Platt, founder of GiveAsYouGet.net
"GiveasyouGet.net offers the chance of cost-free giving while you shop and we are set to become a significant new source of revenue for charities in the year ahead"

Notes for the Editor:
This quarter the money raised by the website will be benefiting Marie Stopes International, a charity leading the fight against AIDS worldwide providing sexual and reproductive health information and services to 3.5 million people worldwide in 35 countries accross Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

GiveAsYouGet.net was launched in October 2003 by Jonny Platt, a student of Development Studies at Sussex University, as a reaction to the imbalance between our consumer lifestyles and the poor quality of life faced by the majority of the world's population.

In the 60 days since the site launch the daily number of visitors has risen from 100 visitors a day at the start of October to the current level of an average 3,500 individuals every day, generating 1000s in sales a week. (statistics correct as of 29th November 2003)
The money raised for charity is generated through advertising commissions earned by sending customers to their favourite shops through links on the website.

These commissions range from 2 to 20 percent of the purchase yet have no impact on the price the customer pays - often prices online are cheaper than on the high street due to the lower overheads involved.

Similarly when searching the web advertisers often pay to appear at the top of the search results. When a user clicks on these sponsored links GiveAsYouGet receives between 10p and 2, based on the competitiveness of the key words used to search.

The fundraising potential of the site is huge. In November 2002 over 1 billion was spent online in the UK alone - with an average commission of 10% it is predicted that over the coming years GiveAsYouGet.net could be an exciting new source of revenue for charitable organisations.

92% of the advertising revenue received is donated to charity each quarter, with different charities benefiting to ensure an even distribution of funds. The remaining 8% goes towards the cost of running the site.

The famous brands that have partnered with GiveAsYouGet include Amazon, Allders, Argos, Boots, Currys, Debenhams, Dell, Heals, John Lewis, Littlewoods, MVC, Past Times, PC World, WHSmiths and Woolworths alongside many lesser-known high quality merchants. There is a range of over 4 million products available from electrical items, books and cds, clothes, food, wine and jewellery to the more bizarre such as toothpaste and trips in hot air balloons.

In the new year (2004) we hope to introduce new features including a much faster, easier to use shopping system allowing you to compare prices between hundreds of merchants, allowing you to find the best bargains on the net while still donating to charity at no extra cost.
