Baltimores GORMAN PROPHECY Signs to Screaming Ferret Wreckords
2003 has been a very productive year for the Baltimore-based, alternative metal band Gorman Prophecy. The band recently signed with Screaming Ferret Wreckords and had a successful summer of touring. After being courted by several labels, the band made the decision to make Screaming Ferret Wreckords their home. Drummer, George Betz, commended the decision, I think signing with Screaming Ferret Wreckords will be a good thing for both the band and the label due to the impact this band has made in the last year and a half its been together. I liked the friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere and that they were upfront and honest with us."
Gorman Prophecys management team, CMT Productions, has also been pleased with the signing, saying, Working with Screaming Ferret Wreckords is a pleasure. We find them to be extremely band-friendly in their negotiations and efforts."
Throughout this year, Gorman Prophecy was able to spread their name touring around the United States, hitting larger shows such as Milwaukee Metal Fest XVII, New Jersey Metal Meltdown, Metal Mindrage II, Metal Nation, as well as an appearance for the troops in Atlanta, Georgia, sponsored by the USO. The band has also secured an endorsement by Dirtbag Clothing in San Francisco, CA.
Gorman Prophecy is already receiving a warm reception, having rocked the fans and the bands they played alongside over the summer.
Dry Kill Logic vocalist Cliff Rigano hinted at the bands potential, Gorman Prophecy is like an iceberg waiting for the Titanic. They will sink your ass!"
Thundercore guitarist, Rob Mason, concurred, Gorman Prophecy is one of the hardest hitting metal bands weve ever jammed with. They put on a hell of a show!"
The band is now in the studio working on their debut album and preparing themselves for their ascension to the ranks of the metal elite. Comprised of Matt Myers (vocals), Allan Young (guitars), Charles Gorman (bass) and George Betz (drums), Gorman Prophecy was fully assembled in 2002. They quickly made a name for themselves in the alternative metal scene by weaving together their various musical influences. Their fan-friendly off-stage manner and psycho, high-energy onstage performance is a rare blend in the metal scene today.
The band Nothingface may have summed up Gorman Prophecy best, Great band! Great music! Great metal!"
Next on tap for the band is a performance at the Merry Metal Christmas" party at the ThunderDome on December 20, 2003.
Screaming Ferret Records, an upstart organization based in New Hampshire, is the home of such diverse acts as the reunited Nuclear Assault, Meliah Rage, Comadose, Tearabyte, CSDO, etc.
