British Prime Minister Tony Blair Calls it Quits...to Coffee!

Recent medical scare forces Blair to give up caffeine dependency

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 8, 2003 -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been forced to give up coffee because of his recent health scare. Blair, who suffers from an irregular heartbeat, has been treated but must adhere to a caffeine-free diet to maintain optimal health.

I was told I was taking too much coffee" says Blair who is 50. Mr Blair has been advised to reduce his caffeine intake gradually but refuses to give up drinking tea. Marina Kushner, author of "Life Without Caffeine", has some advice for the Prime Minister. "Giving up all forms of caffeine, including tea, is the only way to free yourself of the addiction" says Kushner.

Caffeine, cocaine, heroine and methamphetamines all manipulate your brain in a similiar way. All these drugs cause your body to produce a chemical called dopamine, which stimulates the body's pleasure center. Scientist suspect that increased dopamine levels may contribute to the drug's addictiveness.

One excellent way to quit would be with a coffee substitute. An ideal choice would be soy coffee (www.soycoffee.com). It's made entirely from soybeans. Soybeans have been proven to help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. "I'd be happy to send a few bags to the Prime Minister at his request" says Kushner.
