For more than three years, we have been asked to convert the material on our Web site to print. We considered a 32-page newsletter format, but decided the magazine format is better suited to the material," Susan Johnson, manager of Word Smitten Media, who announced the new magazine to be known as WSQJ (WordSmitten Quarterly Journal).

The only predicament we have is whether to include the entire title of Thisbe Nissens great short story on our Winter 2004 cover. Who will it offend," Johnson says, and why? And should our response be-why not?"
Johnson notes that the full title of the story is WOMAN WITH BACKWARDS UTERUS SEEKS MAN WITH SMALL PENIS. This is, after all, normal anatomy. And with that final word now found in every third spammed e-mail that people are getting today, this may not be a cause célèbre, but much ado about small body parts, not great literature." Johnson added, Its not as if we are featuring the universal pantomimic gesture of a third digit on our cover."
Word Smitten Media, publisher of the Web site www.wordsmitten.com and the e-newsletter Storycove, projects an annual membership of 15,000 for the first year of publication, with a target of more than 60,000 subscribers by the second year, according to Johnson. For a vertical market publication, which we are, those small numbers are very achievable," Johnson commented.
