The Magic Flute to Star American Tenor Brent L. Damkier Opens December 20th
The Magic Flute to Star American Tenor Brent L. Damkier Opens December 20th in Regensburg Germany Opera House. Opera Buffs and Damkier fans are expected to quickly sell out the opening night performance.
(PRWEB) December 12, 2003 --In little more than a week, December 20th, Brent L. Damkier will take the Regensburg Germany opera stage in The Magic Flute and undoubtedly captivate audiences once again. Opera fans like to find the superstars of tomorrow and reporting having seen a phenomenon early in a career. Indeed the buzz surrounding Damkiers performances last year in La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and Kurt Weills Mahagonny and the Operetta Der Vogelhändler (The Bird Handler) surpassed the technically superb singing instrument and trueness of his melodic tones. Praise is regularly bestowed upon Damkiers ability to perform as an actor in character (and hit the high notes too.)
Just 75 miles (120 kilometers) out of Munich is the historic German town of Regensburg. Just off the Danube River, nestled in the heart of a charming old town square is an intimate 380 year-old opera house seating 524 dedicate patrons and international guests; it is home to the star tenor, Brent L. Damkier (pronounced Dam-key-r). The youthful face looks to be fresh out of high school having originally hailed from Northern California, yet is in fact the face, voice, and actor of a well-trained virtuoso in his thirties.
Five years ago without any training in German, the nearly six-foot tall, handsome, golden-eyed, fair-skinned performer headed for Germany to hone his craft on the stages of several smaller opera companies. Now poised to be signed by a larger company following his commitment to the Regensburg opera, Damkier is in discussions with several classical record labels to develop a concert repertoire that will be performed as recitals in the United States during 2004 and 2005.
