Iraq has been a pretty scary place since the war started, especially for the children," explains Angela Fissell, co-owner of Glowgranny.com, If these glow sticks bring even one smile to one child, than it will all be worth it."

Along with the food, toiletries, necessities, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation that Operation Gratitude normally provides, each care package will contain six glow sticks specially packaged with a memo from Glowgranny.com explaining how to use the sticks, and what theyre for.

I was reading a story on the internet about how the Iraqi children are especially fascinated by glow sticks - the kind Americans use on the Fourth of July. When a soldier twists the plastic and the stick lights up, the children will sing, dance and shout, ‘Mister, mister, mister, give me a light. ," said Fissell. We felt like the soldiers could use them to help make some new friends."

Glowgranny.com is owned and operated by Angela and Jeremy Fissell, and is located in San Luis Obispo, California. They sell and distribute wholesale glow products nationwide with the majority of their sales coming via the internet.
