Announces new features & benefits

San Francisco, Ca - December 2003 - SafeSexCity, (www.safesexcity.com), the nation's first online website catering to gay men who are committed to safe sex, announced that it has signed up more than 300 members since its founding, just seven weeks ago.

SafeSexCity, (www.safesexcity.com), the nation's first online website catering to gay men who are committed to safe sex, announced that it has signed up more than 300 members since its founding, just seven weeks ago.

"This proves that there's a demand for guys who want to meet guys - and take care of their health as well," said Frank Strona, SafeSexCity's founder. "We get new sign-ups every day."

When members sign up for SafeSexCity, they sign an agreement promising to stay safe.

"There are thousands of gay men who want to drive safely as we drive down the information highway," said Strona, who announced a number of improvements in the site:

Instant Private Messages with receipt notification, guest columnists who will give members tips about how to improve their ads, sex advice, and more. A new advisory board with representatives from many gay male sex and wellness agencies, many of whom face government censorship. A new brother website; called CyberRelate (www.CyberRelate.com) that will act as a free newsletter for men that connect online, offering safe sex tips, SSC Member highlight and commentaries, reviews of films & books, information and other wellness information aimed at gay, bi and trans gay men.

"Safesexcity is showing true leadership by exemplifying that the Internet is what we make of it; it can be embraced by our communities as a force for health, said Mike Discepola, Manager of HIV Prevention / REACH Program at the AIDS Health Project."

SafeSexCity Advisory Chair, Daniel Gomez adds that we (as a group of educators, trainers and outreach specialists) need unique and innovative ways to reach high risk negative men while also acknowledging that prevention must include working with sexually active HIV positive men. "It's doing everything it can to reduce the chances of HIV & STD transmission taking place. We hope that other internet sites will look closely at it as a model" said Gomez, who professionally serves as the Training Director for Institute for Community Health Outreach.
