Local Performing Artist to Attempt Record-Breaking Balloon Sculpture Lack of previous experience no hindrance to ambitious Pirate-ship project

Wake Forest-based performing artist Paul Miller will attempt to break local balloon sculpting records by unveiling a 20-foot pirate ship February 7th at Adventure Landing Family Entertainment Center. Five months in the making, Miller expects to spend 50 hours to construct the ship out of more than 1000 spaghetti" balloons.

Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) December 12, 2003 --Wake Forest-based performing artist Paul Miller will attempt to break local balloon sculpting records by unveiling a 20-foot pirate ship February 7th at Adventure Landing Family Entertainment. Five months in the making, Miller expects to spend 50 hours to construct the ship out of more than 1000 spaghetti" balloons.

Despite no previous experience constructing a balloon sculpture of this magnitude, Miller remains confident. I know how balloons behave with various twists and turns, I just have to start at one end and work towards what I see in my head. Anyways, I work best under pressure."

Paul will begin construction February 2nd and expects to complete it 5 days later for unveiling on Saturday the 7th. He invites the public to watch the construction process all week.

Paul conceived the idea late summer while reflecting on his first years accomplishments as a North Carolina resident. The area has welcomed me, and I wanted to celebrate by sharing something spectacular." Paul chose Adventure Landing in Raleigh as the location for this gigantic balloon pirate ship. They have a big open space and their theme is pirates -- so I thought a giant pirate ship would be fun!"

Originally from Massachusetts, Paul moved to Raleigh in August of 2002 after spending the previous two years performing with a nationally touring Emmy Award winning production, FoodPlay. New to the area, Paul decided to pursue his passion full time and perform only his own material. After 10 years of developing my juggling and magic skills, I felt it was time to let my spirit loose on the world."

Upon moving to Raleigh, Paul quickly gained recognition among local festival planners, agents, and corporate clients as a top performer. He has performed hundreds of shows, run two successful circus camps at Cary Academy and was selected as the only area performing artist to participate in last years International Street Performers Festival organized with Artsplosure.

Dont miss Pauls make-or-break performance as he constructs a 20-foot, 1000+ balloon pirate ship beginning February 2nd. Plan to visit during the construction phase and attend the unveiling on February 7th at Adventure Landing Family Entertainment Center in Raleigh. Paul welcomes your words of encouragement during the construction phase. Stop by anytime… Im expecting long nights!"
