Lloyd Fraser (Logistics) Wins Operating Contract

Lloyd Fraser, the leading UK Logistics and Warehouse operator have been awarded a 3-year operating contract with The Range Stores, based at a warehouse in Mitcheldean in Gloucestershire.

The Range Stores are a rapidly expanding group providing a significant range of goods -- including garden products and furniture, bathroom equipment and suites, general household furniture, toys, camping equipment, Christmas and seasonal lines and even specialist artist paints and brushes. A limited range of food -- crisps, sweets and soft drinks are also included.

The Range Stores are owned by CDS as the parent Company.

The warehouse on the Vantage Point Business Village in Mitcheldean formed part of the old Xerox facility and is 120,000 sq.feet with predominantly narrow aisle stacking affording over 9000 pallet positions. The facility is serviced with two conventional goods-inwards bays and 4 dock levelers. While significant development is being undertaken to co-ordinate warehouse stock management with Supply Chain systems, the operation will start store deliveries in September. It is anticipated that the operation will involve almost 50 colleagues who are being recruited locally. While a new General Manager is being appointed, Mik Breslin -- Business Unit Controller for non-food activities, will hold overall responsibility.

Lloyd Fraser will operate the contract via their wholly owned subsidiary Lloyd Fraser (Logistics).
