Its Official; DEAD MAN WALKIN all over Nashville Country Music as Ohios Scott Hisey Keeps on Keepin It Country!!
Rising Nashville Star Scott Hisey releases his second killer album Dead Man Walkin' showing us that he can also stay true to the music of past country legends, namely Hiseys influences Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, John Anderson, Vern Gosdin and Hank Williams Sr. When the music industry is ALREADY talking about an unreleased album, thats got to be exciting and a very positive start to the promotion of his first single Going Under Getting Over You" to be released to radio and fans today from Dead Man Walkin ". It has been already predicted that this album is so good it has the potential to spawn no less than 6 hits and that alone has got to make you smile.
Scott is described by country music legend George Jones as "the real deal", and when you hear the steel guitar and fiddle on this production...produced by Greg Cole, thats what we call staying faithful to country.
Scott was given the opportunity to launch his Dead Man Walkin' album in Nashville, where he lived for nine years and landed regular gigs playing clubs including World Famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge Robert's Western Wear, and Legends Corner. As he learned his craft he progressed to play in songwriter venues such as Douglas Corner, The Bluebird Café, and The Broken Spoke where he co-wrote with many other Nashville writers, Scott declined this sort of launch saying Im going to launch in my own home town of Dayton Ohio where I started out to thank those people who have supported me through the thick and thin"
Hisey came to prominence in early 2002 with his debut album What Will The Good Times Do". Internationally the album showed recognizable success and strong critical reviews for a debut artist. In a matter of weeks his first single The Nashville Way" had hit 48 on the Country Charts. The album also demonstrated respectful commercial success something even more remarkable for an Independent release by a new artist. Hisey who was deeply frustrated by the industry in the earlier stages of his career, never lost focus of his dreams and is well remembered for THAT song The Nashville Way" which made music industry heads sit uncomfortable for a while in Nashville.
In a little over a year Scott Hisey with his clean good looks and warm emotional style is bringing a whole new audience to Keepin It Country. With his sympathetic but fresh approach he gets to the soul of each song. Hisey is very capable of getting to the Top, with his down to earth and approachable manner. He is often likened by fans and those in the industry to have the same Magic" as that of the late Keith Whitley. Scott does acknowledge that Keith Whitley
has always been a major influence and inspiration to his music. Hisey explains, I am so grateful to be doing what I love to do, so few get the opportunity". Like the best talents out there, Hisey has been quietly working to establish himself with the help of a few loyal people who have shaped him and have been an invaluable support to his career as a performer to day. His Album Dead Man Walkin stays true to his music instincts.
Scotts live performances are first rate, producing the same quality of delivery as you hear on his studio albums, theres no studio magicary in this guy...just pure talent. His songs are so personally honest and distinctive making you live the story. He has a very sensitive way with his lyrics that connects with the senses. One thing about Scott Hisey you will find that he is equally comfortable playing an impromptu acoustic set as he is with the backing of his own K.I.C. band (Keepin It Country Band). Though he is in discussions with a major record label he isnt behind the door in saying that hes not in a hurry to sign a contract stating, When the time is right Ill be ready".
He firmly believes he would not have got this far without his loyal fans that now stretch as far as New Zealand, Australia, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and other parts of main land Europe. Again he says The support I have got from people has been truly incredible and my thanks also to those DJs at home and abroad who continue to play my music".
So get used to the name, Scott Hisey because his is the name they will be slappin' on the Radio and Jukeboxes in 2004.
He has now firmly established himself. For this gifted singer/songwriters career has certainly shifted up another gear and skies the limit.
