Media Arts Center fiscally sponsors award-winning filmmaker, Marc Anthony Massimei's SDI.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 11 2003-- Media Arts Center of San Diego Inc. Executive Director, Ethan van Thillo, announces award-winning filmmaker, Marc Anthony Massimei, has been granted a fiscal sponsorship for SDI (San Diego Indie). A division of MAPresents, Inc., Massimei founded SDI to locally produce feature-length motion pictures.
"This is just one of many steps necessary for SDI to thrive and remain an integral part of the local film community," says Marc Anthony Massimei. "The addition of San Diego to our Los Angeles source for networking requires a strong local network of support. The Media Arts Center is part of that network and we're appreciative of their support."
Ethan van Thillo, Executive Director, states "Media Arts Center San Diego is pleased to support local independent filmmakers by acting as the fiscal sponsor for San Diego Indie. It's great to see that San Diego now has a group which focuses on promoting and producing local independent narrative feature films."
Media Arts Center San Diego is a non-profit organization nurturing and supporting media artists working in film, video, audio, and computer-based multimedia. The organization was founded to challenge the historical exclusion of under-represented communities from the media field, and distorted images of these communities by mainstream media.
Director/producer Marc Anthony Massimei founded MAPresents, Inc. (http://mapresents.com) with the intention of raising the bar of expectations for the low budget motion picture industry through an emphasis on story and high quality production value. The advent of High Definition technology and recording equipment provides the opportunity for Independent filmmakers to realize their dreams of producing high quality motion pictures with budgets previously unheard of. Despite the increase of affordable technology, production of low budget motion pictures has increased but the quality of those productions has not. MAPresents, Inc. intends to change that.
