(PRWEB) December 13, 2003 --Dr. Nadia Ashrafian, President and CEO of Capital Media will moderate a session at the Electronic Retailing Association (ERA) 2004 Spring Conference and Trade Expo being held February 1-3, 2004, in Key Biscayne, Florida. The session is entitled U.S. Hispanic Markets: Are You Missing A Tremendous Opportunity".
There are over 38 million Hispanics living in the U.S. According to the Census Bureau, Hispanics have now surpassed African-Americans as the largest minority group in the U.S. By 2020 the Hispanic population in the U.S. is expected to double to 70 million people. By 2007 Hispanic buying power is to surpass $925 billion.
According to Dr Ashrafian Soon all markets will be ethnic markets. The market place is changing faster than anyone expected. The growing diversity of the buying public requires that marketers cater to the needs and ethnics of each culture. It is no longer 'one shoe fits all. The successful marketers of tomorrow will embrace the rapidly occurring changes in the cultural landscape and adapt both their marketing messages and their marketing channels to survive. While many Hispanics are bilingual they prefer Spanish in their homes. A wise marketer will communicate to this ever increasing sector in their own language and as importantly through a Hispanic media outlet."
Dr Ashrafian further stated: "When targeting the Latino market, keep in mind they are big consumers of products and services. They have families, which are typically larger than Caucasians and thus will consume more products from food to footwear. Embrace the Hispanic market and the resulting rewards will be significant. Ignore it at your peril."
