HauteSpot Networks Announces Release of Ultra-Dense Wireless Access Concentrator
HauteSpot Networks announces the first, low cost, long range, fully managed Ultra-Dense Wireless Access Concentrator on the market today. It is a fully integrated, turn key solution, for wireless service providers who are looking to provide Hot Zone” coverage in metropolitan and rural locations.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2003 --Wireless Internet Access is HAUTE! HauteSpot Networks, a WLAN equipment and service provider, specializing in extended range 802.11, today announced the availability of their Ultra-dense Wireless Access Concentrator, the HauteRoute HR-MITX03.
The HauteRoute HR-MITX03 is the first, low cost, long range, fully managed Ultra-Dense Wireless Access Concentrator on the market today. It is a fully integrated, turn key solution, for wireless service providers who are looking to provide Hot Zone” broadband wireless coverage in metropolitan and rural locations.
With one HauteRoute Access Concentrator, wireless service providers can cover a geographic region of up to 25 miles in circumference, and deliver broadband service to hundreds of simultaneous subscribers.
Balancing three integrated Atheros AR5001X+ Multimode WLAN chipset based radios, with 6 60 degree sectional multi-polarized high gain antennas, and a unique base board which hosts a high performance processor, extensive memory, and flash loaded OS and routing stack, the HauteRoute HR-MITX03 is finely tuned to maximize subscriber density, range, forwarding rates, and security.
We have looked closely at what the wireless service provider needs and think we have an ideal solution,” said Bob Ehlers of HauteSpot Networks, We considered cost, range, performance, and flexibility when we designed the HauteRoute product line. The unique combination of elements in the HR-MITX03 is definitely the kind of solution service providers are looking for.”
An Ultra-dense Wireless Access Concentrator is a base station device, intended to be placed in the center of a Hot Zone”. Like a Hot Spot”, which is generally limited in coverage area to a small footprint of 100 feet or so, a Hot Zone” allow customers with Wi-Fi equipment to log into the Internet on a pay per use basis. Unlike a Hot Spot” however, the Hot Zone” may cover an area of several miles, or throughout an entire office building from a single Access Concentrator. The constraints of the 802.11 specifications, which are derived from the FCC part 15-247 rules for unlicensed radio, mean that power levels must be held to a minimum, thus reducing the effective range of access points using traditional approaches.
HauteSpot Networks has achieved their long range through the use of innovative multi-polarized antenna telemetry which moves the signal out in all axis, instead of just one, like most competing solutions. This technology was developed by WiFi-Plus, a partner of HauteSpot Networks. Combine this with the use of sensitive radio equipment, which is capable of picking up signals that would otherwise be lost by other equipment, state of the art radio management software and drivers, and you have the ingredients to deliver a Hot Zone”.
The HauteRoute HR-MITX03 supports full routing, bandwidth management, firewalling, 802.1 user authentication, filtering, WEP security, software defined radio power output, frequency selection and separation, Power Over Ethernet, and much more.

ABOUT WIFI-Plus
WiFi-Plus designs and manufactures the most advanced function passive antennas on the market today, using multi-polarization (MP).
MP technpology gathers multi-path reflection and refractions in multiple polarizations and multple planes. This results in achieving superior coverage in areas that other antennas will only see noise. Wifi-Plus has the exclusive patent rights on its proprietary antenna designs.
