The war is over, but the casualties continue.

With the emphasis placed on catching Saddam, author Josef Wilson challenges the government's care of our troops in new novel.

MARTINSBURG, WV (PRWEB) December 17, 2003 --The war in Iraq is officially over, but news reports of American casualties continue. Author Josef Wilson purports that casualties will continue for years to come, though these casualties will not make the front page of the newspaper. Instead of being inflicted by a foreign enemy, these lost lives will be the direct result of our own governments negligence and lack of concern for the well-being of our soldiers. Radiation poisoning from DU rounds and experimental drugs given to soldiers caused serious illnesses and death of many of our Gulf War Veterans, under the label of Gulf War Syndrome".
The disease has become an international concern as NATO was urged to declare a moratorium on the use of depleted uranium rounds. Among the members of the allied coalition in the Gulf War, 27 of the 28 countries report wide spread health problems with their veterans. A recent study conducted by the Gulf War Research Unit in London links Gulf War Syndrome to the vaccinations given to troops serving in the Gulf War. The one member of the coalition not stricken by Gulf War Syndrome is France, the only country prohibiting its troops from taking the experimental drugs the Pentagon provided.
The improved weapons used in our latest war with Iraq contain the same poison as the old ones, and the vaccines appear to be the same used in the last. The only question remaining is how high will the casualty list be this time. Author Josef Wilson brings all of these questions to light, and brings forward some chilling answers in his new novel, Degree of Risk.
