Rising Contemporary Jazz Star Jimmy Sommers does performance to benefit Music Program at Inner City Center
(PRWEB) December 18, 2003 --On Saturday January 17th Gemini/Higher Octave Recording artist Jimmy Sommers will bring the "Appleton's Evening Escape with Jimmy Sommers" to The famed Sunset Room in Hollywood. The Sunset Room is located at 1430 North Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood. The show is part of a series called E 3 Weekends which are sponsored in part by Appleton Estate V/X Jamaica Rum (www.appletonrumus.com). The series has already been to New York,Chicago and Baltimore.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the music program of Los Angeles community center "A Place Called Home" (www.apch.org). A Place Called Home was created in 1993 as a "save haven" for at risk youth in Los Angeles. A Place Called Home has programs in theater,nutrition, computers, gang prevention and intervention, music, sports, visual arts and others.
Sommers was voted one of People magazine's Top Fifty Bachelors of 2002. He is currently riding the success of his album "Lovelife" which features guest performances by Macy Gray, Rahsaan Patterson, Chris Botti,Ruff Endz and DJ Spinna.
