Collins Associates Tony Fox to Head Reinsurance Trade Group Subcommittee

Reinsurance intermediary John B. Collins Associates today announced that Tony Fox, Deputy Chairman and head of the companys Bermuda office, has been selected to lead the Reinsurance Subcommittee of the newly re-formed Bermuda Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Association (BIRBA).

Collins Associates, Inc., one of the worlds leading reinsurance intermediaries, today announced that Tony Fox, Deputy Chairman and head of the companys Bermuda office, has been selected to lead the Reinsurance Subcommittee of the newly re-formed Bermuda Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers Association (BIRBA). Mr. Fox is also a member of the trade groups executive committee.

The purpose of BIRBA is to provide a single voice for insurance and reinsurance brokers in Bermuda, both within the industry and with regulators of the Bermuda Monetary Authority. The islands historical profile as a key insurance/reinsurance center was raised further by the increase in capacity and wave of new incorporations there following the terrorist attacks in the U.S. on September 11, 2001. Every dollar that enters Bermudas insurance/reinsurance sector passes through brokers. BIRBAs goal is to drive good business practices and to be an information resource and advocacy group.

Mr. Fox joined Collins Associates in January 2002 to establish the companys Bermuda operations. He has been in the reinsurance industry since 1972. Prior to joining Collins, he was Chairman and Chief Executive of Bradstock Group Plc (a Lloyds Broker). He also ran the London and European offices of E.W. Blanch Co from 1982 through 1989.
