For Immediate Release FIRSTSTOP WEB SEARCH BEATS COPERNIC ET AL AND ANNOUNCES 4.0 WITH REAL-TIME INFORMATION DISCOVERY

FirstStop Web Search wins top award with performance and ease of use and introduces serendipity for business intelligence.

Atascadero, California (PRWEB) December 19, 2003 --FirstStop Web Search, LLC today revealed its plan to incorporate information-encountering features into its highly popular search source integration and management utility, FirstStop Web Search.

Speed, relevance, and ease of use describe the "lighting-fast" performance of FirstStop WebSearch. In a recent article in UKs biggest selling Internet magazine, Webuser, FirstStop WebSearch was awarded the coveted Gold Award and, according to Andy Shaw, Reviews Editor, beats "even the mighty Copernic."

FirstStop Web Search, LLC announces the release of FirstStop WebSearch 4.0 which extends its ability to harvest information from an unlimited number of hand-selected sources in real-time to enable users to gain access to the high value news, commentary, and opinion that resides within websites, weblogs, news feeds, and syndicated services.

What's new in version 4.0

•   Discovery Tool - A new real-time "Discovery Tree" displays your search results in an efficient graphic display that can be best described as an inverted tree with branches. Each branch of the tree shows your search results sorted and grouped by the words and phrases most frequently found in your search results and can be easily viewed with a simple click of the mouse. This quick look view provided by the "Discovery Tree" makes a large number of search results manageable by its interactive design for sorting and its side-by-side detail view.
•   Faster display of search results - Performance is improved when receiving a large number of search results.
•   Faster display of saved search results - When browsing from one saved search results to the next, performance has been improved.
•   Automated collection of Search History - Search history is automatically saved by default.
•   Copy results to clipboard - In addition to exporting search results to XML, HTML, and CSV, you can now easily copy the search results and then paste them as text into any program(i.e., into e-mail or ICQ to share search results with your friends or co-workers, into MS Word to add them to your report, etc.). Just select the results you want, and press Ctrl+C to copy them to clipboard.
•   Additional display settings for search results --A simplified three level setting for display results has been added. Of course, FSWS retains the full complement of display settings from the previous version.
•   Color in search results - The search results now display alternating row colors to assist in reading large amount of search results.
•   Additional setting for more frequent automated updates of search sources.
•   Amazon - Added a new Amazon category with over a dozen different sub-categories (Books, DVD, Electronics, Music, Video).
•   Extended and refined search integration specification - This will allow a wider range of search sources to be added to FirstStop WebSearch.

FirstStop Web Search introduces Serendipity for Business Intelligence (Serendipitous: making fortunate discoveries by accident).

Information discovery is a key element in FirstStop;s new Information Discovery initiative. FSWSs goal is to include designs and functions to stimulate serendipitous insights to help users uncover useful, but not sought for, information, while at the same time providing the right mix of simple information retrieval techniques and powerful heuristic search.
