Certificate in Homeland Security Program developed by WMD Task Force to be launched by Teikyo Post University in January 2004
A new Certificate in Homeland Security Program developed by WMD Task Force will be launched by Teikyo Post University in January 2004. The initial program will be offered on-campus with classes beginning January 23, 2004. This certificate program is also scheduled to be offered on-line through Teikyo Post Universitys nationally recognized distance learning program in early 2004. The program is comprised of five (5) 8-hour courses designed to form an integral foundation of information pertaining to terrorism and homeland security issues. The five courses include -
- Diversity Awareness (Religion, Culture, Politics, and Terrorism) (mandatory for certificate)
- Terrorism Awareness
- Crisis/Consequence Management
- Media Relations
- Bioterrorism Awareness.
Completion of the Diversity Awareness course and any other 2 courses qualifies the student for a Certificate in Homeland Security. Continuing education units (CEUs) have also been approved by the CT Office of Emergency Medical Services, CT Police Academy, and CT State Department of Education.
