Embryo Entertainment Inks Venture With 2KSounds/EMI
Urban Music Upstart Partners with 2KSounds to form Embryo Entertainment Group (EEG)
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 21, 2003 --2KSounds has inked an exclusive venture with urban music upstart and artist manager Michelle Andino to form Embryo Entertainment Group(EEG), it was announced today by Carl Harris, Chairman of 2KSounds/EMI, and Andino.
Michelle (who goes by the moniker "Mikki A."), is the embodiment of the true entrepreneur," stated Harris. She has the potential to be one of the new architects of modern urban music scene, her track record for discovering and promoting artists from the ground up is quite impressive from someone so young. We are thrilled to be in business with her."
In searching for the right partner for EEG, I knew that I didnt want to be a part of a company that was stiff, old and stodgy," commented Mikki. "I'm young with big ideas and I wanted to be with a company that would let me develop, market and promote projects that speak the millions of other young, culturally diverse people just like me. The vibe I got from Harris and the staff at 2K was that they are determined to continue building a great label, and this agreement will allow us to take EEG to the next level, while staying young, hip and sexy"
Up first for Mikki is to dispel the rumors that a woman can't run a upstart record label. "I'm young, so what! I'm also a female, Bilingual, Latino, open minded and unafraid of learning through failure. I want to follow women of power like Sylvia Rhone, Susanne Depasse and Madonna. I see nothing wrong with being a female version of P.Diddy with interests in music, film, television
and clothing. And the team at 2K understands that."
Mikki first leaped into music when, she became an intern at age 17. Keeping her ear finely in tune with the pulse of the streets, she began marketing Latino hip-hop acts in teen night clubs. She took this concept a step further and launched her own consulting firm, the Mikki A. Firm, and through it, Mikki and her "team of scantily clad young ladies" would promote material to various venues catering to the '18 and over" urban club market. She states, "By maintaining a street wise approach to discovering and nurturing talent is what we intend to do, the musical convergence of cultures begun long ago, and the Latin urban market coupled with the urban youth market is poised for unprecedented growth. This is a demographic that demands our attention and respect and we believe EEG will be at the forefront of this movement. The English dominant, Spanish speaking 2nd and 3rd generation Latino demographic will continue to be serviced, by those who understand the dynamics of the culture and the power that this demographic has."
In addition to overseeing all of the activities of the newly formed EEG, Andino recently sold 50% of the Mikki A. Clothing Company to Urbano Entertainment Group.
