100 Black Men of Long Island 1st Food Drive a Huge Success
100 Black Men of Long Island Food Drive
(PRWEB) December 21, 2003 --100 Black Men of Long Island, Inc. sponsored a Canned Food Drive to benefit The Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead on Wednesday, November 19th. Canned food or boxed and sealed dry goods (Cereal, Crackers, Cookies, etc.) was collected during the drive. Members and individuals brought donations to 9 Centre Street in Hempstead. Diana ONeill of the Long Island Volunteer Center received the donation and delivered the goods to the Interfaith Nutrition Network.
The Interfaith Nutrition Network addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing and supportive services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek help.
More than 100 pounds of food was donated to the Interfaith Nutrition Network. The 100 Black Men of Long Island would like to say thank you to everyone who made a donation. All food contributions were greatly appreciated.
For more than 25 years, 100 Black Men of Long Island has been actively involved in community and educational projects in Nassau and Suffolk counties designed to empower the community at-large. Henry Holley is the groups current president.
