(PRWEB) December 19 2003--With the 13th Annual Walk for the Animals taking place May 8, 2004, one might think it a bit early to be finishing plans for the event. But according to Brittney Gosselin, Director of Development for The Humane Society for Southwest Washington, thats exactly whats happening and plans are right on schedule.
We expect over 1,600 walkers this year and the event has enjoyed greater popularity each and every year of its history. In 2001 we increased by 30% and last year we exceeded 5%, this year we anticipate and additional 5% over last. This Walk for Animals is the largest in the state of Washington. Even in this slow national economy, we see continued growth and unwavering support for animals. We are gratified that we have maintained a healthy group of core sponsors including Petco & Pro-Plan, First Independent Bank, The Columbian Newspaper, Radio Station The Buzz 105.1 & KISN FM, , WB-32, , Dog Nose News, Quantum, Burgerville, Outback Steakhouse, Kindercare, Comcast, 24 Hour Fitness, Gryffin Printing, Bemis, Les Schwab Tire Centers.
The motivation of our sponsors is to help the animals and better educate our community about animal health and welfare issues. We try our best to highlight sponsor support through distribution of over 150,000 flyers and media coverage. We receive over 400 PBAs (Public Broadcast Announcements) that reach over 2 million television viewers." Visit the Humane Society at www.southwesthumane.org
