Kerio WinRoute Firewall is the first ICSA Labs certified network firewall for Windows
ICSA Labs certifies WinRoute as the first modular firewall for Windows XP to meet the industry's toughest security criteria
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) December 22, 2003 --Kerio Technologies today announced that ICSA Labs®, the independent authority for global product security testing that maintains stringent vendor-neutral quality standards, has declared Kerio WinRoute Firewall the first certified network firewall for Windows XP under version 4.0 of the ICSA Labs' Modular Firewall Certification Criteria.
ICSA Labs tests 95% of products in key technology categories such as anti-virus, IPSec, VPN, firewall, PC firewall, cryptography, intrusion detection and content security.
Any network administrator can take a regular PC running Windows XP and turn it into a powerful corporate firewall," comments Dusan Vitek, director of marketing for Kerio Technologies. "Because it runs on Windows, Kerio WinRoute Firewall offers a much more intuitive interface than solutions using Linux, or appliances with proprietary operating systems, that are much more expensive."
"We were impressed with the product's capabilities, given that it runs on a simple workstation PC," says Brian Monkman, firewalls program manager for ICSA Labs. "It is clear that Kerio understands the importance of this type of testing and is dedicated to maintaining the highest security standards."
Kerio WinRoute Firewall supports networks with anywhere from 10 to 1000 computers. In addition to certified security, it offers advanced user management, Active Directory integration, VPN support, and web content filtering options.
Kerio WinRoute Firewall, which runs on server and desktop versions of Windows 2000 and later, starts at $299 for the standard 10 user base license, and $479 version with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus for scanning HTTP and FTP traffic.
