Tri-Hughes Entertainment and Kidz Launch, Everyone Rides"

Santa will have come and gone as we move in to the new year, but for Tri-Hughes Entertainment and one of Los Angeles better known outreach programs, Metro Kidz, that means its time to pick up where he left off

(PRWEB) December 22, 2003 --Santa will have come and gone as we move in to the new year, but for Tri-Hughes Entertainment and one of Los Angeles better known outreach programs, Metro Kidz, that means its time to pick up where he left off.

Tri-Hughes Entertainment and Metro Kidz will be gearing up for a program one Tri-Hughes employee calls, Operation-Everyone Rides." The programs goal is to distribute a bicycle and protective clothing to as many underprivileged children as possible.

I was shopping for a Christmas present for my son, having never bought a bike and thinking as a child a bike is a big thing to ask for, I almost jumped out of my pants when I saw how inexpensive bikes have become. Every kid should have one." (Patrick Hughes)

Tri-Hughes Entertainment started a relationship with Metro Kidz early last year after an eye-opening meeting with Pastor Julian Ortiz, the programs creator.

Metro Kidz operates a small number of METRO VANS that drive into some of Los Angeles most 'in need neighborhoods. The vans are bright and tastefully painted and when they arrive, the vans transform into wonderful makeshift stages where an uplifting performance from some of the Metro Kidz volunteers follows. Singing, dancing, and the distribution of food and drink for those in dire need, create an environment that is healthy, motivational, and may be enough for the kids and parents who come, to hold that joy in their hearts until the next time the 'Vans of hope, make their rounds.

Although operation, 'everyone rides, is in the start up stages, it was started at the perfect time. With a new California Governor that has made it clear he is," for the children," and a governor who has started an endless amount of physical fitness programs for children throughout his entertainment career, Tri-Hughes and Metro Kidz hope that the concept, everyone rides," fall at least in front of the governor in the near future.

Volunteers will be contacting bicycle manufacturers within the coming weeks, and will be setting up donation centers across the state for new and used bicycles and protective clothing.

We are trying to set up a deal with a large bicycle parts manufacturer and were looking into finding a company that could repair and restore older bicycles. That way people can let go of their 1972 ten-speed that theyve been meaning to get rid of for years, but never have. That 1972 Ten-speed, once its fixed, can bring unsurpassed joy to a child who probably never received a toy in his/her life."- Brandy (HEG)

Bikes will allow for the children to be active and will motivate them to lead healthier lives. Its important to let them know someone cares about them. For those that are cared for, it will take the burden off their caring parents who, without this program, could never afford to give their kids something so little, that so many of us take for granted.

For the older kids, the bikes will allow them to be mobile. The bikes will provide transportation to kids whose family probably has no other means of transportation. Families that would have trouble paying for bus fare.

This program is long overdue.
