Christmas Came Early for Opera Fans Thanks to Tenor Brent L. Damkier
Tenor Brent L. Damkier wowed opera fans opening night of The Magic Flute in Regensburg Germany
(PRWEB) December 23, 2003 --The six-foot tall, handsome, blonde, golden-eyed, fair-skinned opera Tenor, Brent L. Damkier, brought 524 opera fans an early Christmas present Saturday night at the Regensburg opera production of The Magic Flute. Located just off the Danube River, 75 miles (120 kilometers) outside of Munich, Damkier was center stage at the 380 year-old building, providing a virtuoso performance which thrilled both the audience and critics alike.
The development of his Tamino character was brilliantly interpreted by Damkier from an innocent young prince mislead to a knight in shining armour. The rich golden color of the tenor's velvet arias cut through the orchestra informing the audience that indeed Christmas arrived early.
Now poised to be signed by a larger company following his commitment to the Regensburg opera, Damkier is in discussions with several classical record labels to develop a concert repertoire that will be performed as recitals in the United States during 2004 and 2005.
Opera fans like to find the superstars of tomorrow and reporting having seen a phenomenon early in a career. Indeed the buzz surrounding Damkier’s performances last year in La Cenerentola (Cinderella) and Kurt Weill’s Mahagonny and the Operetta Der Vogelhändler (The Bird Handler) surpassed the technically superb singing instrument and trueness of his melodic tones. Praise is regularly bestowed upon Damkier’s ability to perform as an actor in character (and hit the high notes too.) The Magic Flute has never sounded so magnificent. Performances continue into early 2004.
