E-BMC Predicts that the Migration of Christmas Shoppers to the Internet Forewarns of the Migration of Most Business Dealings to an E-Business Structure in 2005

The way buyers engage in Christmas shopping has been revolutionary over the last five years. More and more shoppers have abandoned the tradition of going to the stores and shopping malls in favor of the convenience and efficiency offered by the Internet. E-BMC believes this migration forewarns of the shifts that will be ocurring in all business operations as CEOs discover that e-business enablement provides geater operating efficiency at less cost while yielding wider profit margins. 2oo4 will be the year that CEOs learn how to overcome the communication gap they have had with technology and begin to integrate the power of IT into their strategic planning and budgeting process without risk.

Vernon, NJ (PRWEB) December 24, 2003 --The Christmas Season is again demonstrating the inevitable migration of business from the traditional 'brick and mortar" business model to an Internet and e-business enabled alternative. While traditional retail outlets struggle to find ways to attract customers, cope with poor weather and otherwise minimize the inconveniences associated with holiday shopping, Internet based businesses are experiencing their best year ever. Shopping via the Internet is just the tip of the e-business revolution iceberg.

This is no surprise to Dr. John T. Whiting, the Managing Director of Vernon based E-BMC who has been tracking what he refers to as the fusion of business and technology" since the World Wide Web first introduced e-commerce as an attractive alternative to traditional retail shopping. He states It is natural for consumers to elect to spend their money at Internet based sales outlets that offer greater convenience, competitive prices, and comparable quality of service."

Dr. Whiting notes It is the ability of technology to deliver more efficient, more cost effective, more timely and more reliable service in the conduct of business that makes it inevitable that all businesses will have to become e-business enabled or face the consequence of lost business and the threat of business failure." The Holiday season clearly demonstrates the inability of the traditional retail industry to compete with the Internet and the consequence those companies will pay if they do not recognize the reality of the e-business revolution.

The best holiday gift most CEOs could receive during this Holiday Season would be a methodology for them to follow to bridge the communication gap that has existed between strategic business executives and technology professionals. Dr. Whiting states that most CEOs recognize that they need to take steps to integrate IT into their strategic business plans, capitalize on the power of IT to support their business and achieve the benefits that will keep them viable and competitive as they approach 2005." However, they are skeptical of the sales pitches" made by IT industry sales personnel, are interested in controlling the risks associated from making a wrong IT purchase and implementation decision and want clear assurances that the investment will add real value to company performance." Dr. Whiting says, CEOs no longer need to fear risk and be denied access to the benefits that can come from e-business enablement."

E-BMC has been a pioneer in developing a methodology that CEOs can follow to purchase, deploy and use IT based on quality business planning and budgeting processes based on management by objectives (MBO) and return on investment (ROI) criteria.

The E-BMC E-Business Enablement Methodology has been developed based on established business management principles to allow CEOs to control and manage the fusion of business and technology. This..." Dr. Whiting states ...makes it possible for CEOs to escalate IT from the tactical technical level to the strategic business level and integrate the power of enterprise IT resources into the strategic business plan based on MBO and ROI criteria in a manner that CEOs can use with ease without becoming expert in IT."

Those companies that are taking steps now to achieve enterprise wide e-business enablement will have a clear competitive advantage with the arrival of the New Year and a more positive economic climate in 2005.

Dr. Whiting notes, With the acknowledgement that e-business will be the inevitable driver of business, it is prudent for CEOs to acquire the knowledge they need to take the steps required to become e-business enabled at the earliest possible date." Every day of inactivity can mean the granting of significant business advantage to a more visionary competitor who will be able to engage in business more cost effectively."

In the spirit of the Holiday Season E-BMC is offering CEOs a FREE E-Business Enablement Status Assessment tool to help identify potential vulnerabilities, needs, areas of performance opportunity for their companies.
