If you dont get what you want for Christmas this year, it might be because Santa had to do 175 radio/TV interviews in one month

"The Real Santa Claus" aka Jim Pollard is the most popular guest ever listed in Radio-TV Interview Report, the magazine 4,000 radio/TV producers nationwide read to find interesting guests for their programs. He did 175+ interviews in the last four weeks.

HICKORY, KY (PRWEB) December 25, 2003 --After doing 175 media interviews, Im exhausted and might not be able to drive the sleigh," says The Real Santa" Jim Pollard.

Tomorrow (December 24) Santa will appear on the nationally-syndicated Montel Williams Show. Hes already appeared on Fox & Friends and his interviews have been heard on over 300 radio stations. In all my years, Ive never gotten as much publicity as this," says Pollard, who has been playing the role of Santa for over 45 years.

I probably did more interviews this month than Howard Dean and hes only got eight competitors. I have thousands of other Santas to compete with and I dont even have a publicist," Pollard said. But although hes a household name, Santa still had to spend some money to promote himself.

He spent $1200 to buy three ads in RADIO-TV INTERVIEW REPORT, an industry trade magazine that 4,000 radio and TV producers read to find authors, experts and spokespeople for interviews. As soon as my ad ran, my phone was ringing off the hook! I got calls from over 200 producers of radio talk show who wanted to interview me via telephone," said Pollard.

During each interview, Santa told audiences about his book THINGS KIDS SAY TO SANTA, a compilation of funny stories about kids and Santa. Hes done 175 interviews in the last month and some of those shows, such as Steve Crawleys American Scene, were syndicated nationally. Santa was the most popular talk show guest of the year," said Steve Harrison, publisher of RADIO-TV INTERVIEW REPORT. Weve had a lot of bestselling authors and celebrities like Deepak Chopra, John Gray, Ted Nugent, Jack Canfield, Oliver North and Bill OReilly but to my knowledge no one has gotten this many interviews this quickly.

Most of our advertisers are happy getting an average of 5-10 interviews per month, especially since were doing all the work creating their ad copy. But to get over 200 calls really shows how many people want to talk to Santa," said Harrison.
