SONG AIRLINES CONCEPT STORE IN SOHO, NEW YORK COPIES ORIGINAL CONCEPT AND TAG PHRASE 'IS IT A STORE, IS IT A GALLERY FROM THE TRAVELING AND TEMPORARY STORE VACANT
Several key components of the temporary Song Airlines store in New York City are a direct copy of 'Vacants original concept.
(PRWEB) December 25, 2003 --After many calls and emails to Song Airlines corporate office, in an attempt to resolve the situation, 'Vacant, the traveling concept retail/gallery store, which opens for a month only in major cities across the world has issued this press release.
Several key components of the temporary Song Airlines store in New York City are a direct copy of 'Vacants original concept. The most important key elements include the tagline, 'Is it a store, Is it a gallery, which has appeared in Song Airlines brochures and through media outlets including the International Herald Tribune in London, which originally appeared in the 'Vacant media kit sent out to multiple advertising agencies and design firms in an attempt to procure a sponsor for the first store, and was evident on the Vacant website (http://www.govacant.com) as long ago as July in 2002. Other key elements include the scheduling of events and exhibitions which take place almost every day during the temporary Song Airlines store duration, which is also a direct copy of the Vacant concept, when in New York City in the month of February 2002, Vacant executed fashion events, product launches and exhibitions every evening.
Vacant opened its temporary store in February of 2003 at 43 Mercer Street on the corner of Grand Street to a hail of press, and excitement. Robin Williams, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick shopped at the store. Puma, Nike, Ecko, Keanan Duffty and Patrick Repski showcased their product lines, and the Vacant concept has now appeared in at least 40 publications globally including the Daily News, NY 1 channel, MTV Europe, Financial Times, Style.com, Luomo Vogue, Travel + Leisure, Spanish Elle, Time Out, I.D, Arena Magazine to name but a few. Vacant also has 1.4 million international subscribers to its website database, with a host of major clients and advertising agencies which it works with.
Song Airlines advertising agency, 'Neverstop and its creative director Alex Calderwood were hired to create an image for Song Airlines concept store. Alex Calderwood has known of Vacant since its inception, Mr. Calderwood was also present at a function with the owner of the Vacant concept store, Mr. Russell Miller in July of 2003 in Portland, Oregon, while the Vacant store was operating there. There are a number of individuals who were also present in Portland who are willing to support this. The advertising agency for Song Airlines, also has employees subscribed to the Vacant website.
Vacant continues to open in many cities in 2004, including Miami, Chicago, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Paris, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
