Battle to restore Al Gore to White House continues - TennesseansForGore.com not ready to give up battle

We at TennesseansForGore.com understand and respect Al Gore's decision to endorsed Howard Dean. However, we still strongly believe that Al Gore is the best and only qualified to perform the job.

(PRWEB) December 29, 2003 --In December 2003, Al Gore endorsed Howard Dean to represent the Democratic Party in the Presidential Election in 2004. Although it was difficult, it appears he made this decision for the sake of our country. As the 2004 election grows closer Vice President Gore saw the need to pull the Democratic Party together by supporting one candidate in an effort to focus on the bigger goal of removing Bush from office in 2004. Only in achieving Bushs removal from office, can we begin to reverse the damage his administration has done to our country.

We at Tennesseans For Gore understand and respect Al Gore's decision. However, we still strongly believe that Al Gore is the best and only qualified to perform the job.

We are being asked to abandon our goals of drafting Al Gore in 2004 and in return support Dean for president. We do not believe at this time we can recommend support for Dean. We also had a very difficult time coming to this decision. The 2004 election goes beyond just replacing Bush. It's also about restoring the country. It will take a special person with the skills and knowledge that Al Gore has demonstrated over the years to do the job. Since the announcement from Al Gore to support Dean did not include any promises of Al Gore having a prominent position in Deans administration, we believe that further study is necessary to determine if Dean will lead this country in a manner similar to Al Gore before we can endorse him.

We have decided that due to Al Gores announcement of support for Dean it would no longer be appropriate to officially continue to push Al Gore supporters in Tennessee to vote uncommitted" in the February primary election. Instead we are recommending that each voter consider for himself or herself if one of the nine candidates currently running meets all the standards that Al Gore would bring to office. If the answer is no then we want to remind you that you have another choice. Voting uncommitted at the primary will tell the Democratic Party we want better" and will bring around a second vote.

In addition we are asking each Al Gore Supporter to contact Howard Dean, Al Gore and the DNC and let them know that Al Gore must have a prominent position in the next administration if they expect our support.

We thank you all for the support you have shown for Al Gore and for helping us in our fight to bring him to office in 2004. We want to ensure you that our love for Vice President Al Gore goes much deeper then just the 2004 election and we will be continuing to work hard in the name of Al Gore and his vision for our nation.
