Virtual Assistants Gain Notoriety in Time Magazine
Local Author Among the Many Successful Virtual Assistants
Virtual assistants are again gaining national attention; this time being quoted in the November 17th, 2003 issue of Time Magazine. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101031117-538933,00.html.
(PRWEB) December 31, 2003 --Having her own VA business has been a dream of Mary Aldorasis for many, many years. Now that she is a grandmother of seven grandchildren, her dream has finally come true. Mary has been working in her V.A. Business full time since October of 2000. A former legal secretary working for a two-attorney office for two years, Mary decided to go on her own and open up her own home-based word processing and transcription service after the attorney decided to close down his office. While still working for the attorney full-time, Mary did start off her home-based business working nights and weekends, before the office closed down. Mary has also worked as a word processor for a large firm in California for ten years before moving to Arizona.
Besides working at home, Mary contracts herself out to a publishing/magazine business. Marys goal is to have a client base where she can hire other VAs to help her in overflow work and develop a home-based Virtual Assistant business with VAs who are striving to do the same thing -- working in their homes. The virtual revolution has begun. And there is no looking back.
The virtual industry is exploding with potential as businesses are learning the dynamics of what virtual assistants can do. Technology, the Internet, associations such as IAVOA, and skilled and qualified virtual training programs such as Virtual Assistance U are but fueling the fire! Virtual assistants provide service from a home office to anywhere in the world using their high speed access, e-mails, fax machines as well as many web-based applications.
Marys practice is growing from legal transcription to other typing services, such as data entry, manuscripts, and other clerical duties, and consulting others on how to start their own virtual business.
Rebecca Trelfa, Certified Professional Virtual Assistant and Founder of www.work-the-web.com, who was quoted in Times article on Page 150, strongly believes that the industry will boom in the near future as technology continues to thrive in a virtual environment. Knowing that she could only boost the industry and support other VAs by sharing her findings publicly, she formed www.work-the-web.com in January, 2001.
What can a virtual assistant do? Ask any one of them and they will be glad to tell you. Then sit back, relax, and watch how they can make your business grow, your stress level drop, and your whole outlook on life a whole lot better!
