East Cleveland, Ohio, (PRWEB) December 31, 2003 --author M. LaVora Perry seeks a print publisher for WU-LUNG & I-LUNG-a retelling of an ancient Chinese Buddhist legend. In the tale, when skilled calligrapher and loyal son I-lung is forced to disobey his father's dying wish and copy the Buddhist scripture known as the Lotus Sutra, I-lung is overcome with guilt. He later learns that his actions brought happiness to his father and many others.

Norio Saneshige, the illustrator of WU-LUNG & I-LUNG, won a 2003 Addy® Award from the American Advertising Federation for the book's illustrations. He lives in Ohio with his wife and two children.

Author Bio
In 1995, M. LaVora Perry became the first African-American staff card writer for the world's largest publicly-owned greeting card company-American Greetings® (AGs). As such, her writing has appeared on gift items in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and in Spanish translation in Mexico.

While at AG Ms. Perry earned Creative Excellence awards in the years 1999 and 2000. In the 1990's She was also award in Ohio Writers magazine's Best of Ohio's Writers contest and Cleveland Free Times fiction contest for her short story, "Forgiving."

M. LaVora Perry has contributed writing to Living Buddhism journal and the World Tribune and Plain Dealer (Ohio) newspapers. She also edited American Greetings educational 2004 Day-at-a-Time® desktop calendar, African-American Almanac, which includes inspirational quotations by and information about such figures as Herbie Hancock and U.N. Peace Medal recipient Daisaku Ikeda.

Chris R. Seaman, the illustrator for M. LaVora Perry's subsidy-published children's book in print, Taneesha's Treasures of the Heart, designed Harry Potter collectible cards for Wizards of the Coast® in association with Warner Brothers Studios®. In the story, Taneesha is an African-American Buddhist girl that relies on faith, hope, courage and friendship to defend her best friend, who is Caucasian, when a bullying child taunts her because of her physical disability.

Since its publication in June of 2003, Taneesha's Treasures of the Heart has received national and international acclaim-including being featured in the November-December 2003 issue of Black Issues Book Review, being showcased in a staged production by the Poets' & Writers' League of Greater Cleveland at the Cleveland Playhouse on May 15, 2004 and being made available to children in Malaysia and several African nations. Taneeshas Treasures of the Heart is now in its third printing.

M. LaVora Perry is enthusiastically applying the same passion and book promotion know-how that has led to Taneesha's Treasures of the Hearts successes toward ensuring that WU-LUNG & I-LUNG is also received and enjoyed by readers worldwide.
