Cheshire, UK, 28th January 2003: For Immediate Release.

X2Net Limited announces the release of WebCompiler version 2, a full-featured HTML Compiler that allows standard HTML to be converted into a stand-alone executable.

Uses for WebCompiler are many and varied, from producing e-books though product catalogs, demonstration web sites, documentation, public access kiosks and many others.

Based on Internet Explorer technology, presentations created using WebCompiler 2 support the full range of HTML seen on modern web sites including scripting and the use of cookies, along with most add-on technologies like Flash etc.

WebCompiler allows the presentation of information to the end user in a secure yet simple and familiar way, and allows companies to re-use any investment they have already made in HTML. The HTML source code is not viewable by the end user, the View Source options having been disabled. The source HTML and images are not copied to disk before display, further protecting the designers intellectual property and ideal for Web Designers wanting to securely demonstrate possible solutions.

WebCompiler is very easy to use. With the source HTML and associated data on a local disk, simply point the compiler to the Home Page, select where the output presentation should be written and press the Compile button. There is no need to follow special rules in respect of the HTML, or put everything in one directory or similar restrictions. If the Web Site works on disk in a normal browser it will not need structural modification before compiling. Those developing e-commerce systems will also appreciate a command-line compile option that allows integration into existing e-commerce systems.

Full form processing support combined with cookie and scripting support allows the creation of very sophisticated product catalogues. User input can be returned securely via e-mail using standard RSA dual-key cryptography with 256 bit keys, allowing the end user to order directly without visiting any web site.

Install and uninstall support is provided in presentations, allowing the presentation designer to offer the end user the option of installing the presentation permanently on his PC, with the usual entries added to the Windows Start Menu and desktop.

WebCompiler presentations can include very powerful searching capabilities. Searching for occurrences of a word across 1,000 HTML pages can usually be achieved in under a second on a P2/400. The results of the searches can be presented to the user using a user-defined page that can maintain the look and feel of the original presentation.

WebCompiler has a host of other features. Almost all aspects of the look of the interface can be controlled, from window sizing through to the presence or absence of user interface controls such as menus and toolbars; Kiosk Mode removes all the user interface controls and makes it impossible to break out of on Win9x systems (ideal for point-of-sale use or in other public places); the interface of the presentation can be easily translated into languages other than English by the presentation designer; individual pages or complete directories can be protected and require that access needs a username and password combination; presentations can be date-limited or locked to a single system; and much more.

Evaluation versions of WebCompiler 2, and full contact and purchase details are available at http://www.x2net.com.

X2Net WebCompiler 2 will run on any 32-bit Windows system using Internet Explorer 4 or above. WebCompiler 2 costs 99 US Dollars. Customers can purchase in US Dollars, Sterling or the Euro.

An affiliate program is available which pays a 20 US Dollar commission to affiliates generating a download of the trial version that subsequently leads to a sale.
