Want to learn Spanish in Spain? More than 17,000 Americans per year already do so. Babylon Idiomas offers a fresh alternative.
The staggering growth in Americans wanting to learn Spanish in Spain has created impersonal college-like educational centers in Spain where service is often haphazard. Babylon Idiomas was set up in January 2003 to offer personal and professional service to its (many American) clients both inside and outside of the classroom.
More than 130,000 people visit Spain each year to learn Spanish -of which 17,000 come from the USA- and the market continues to grow (source: Turespaņa 2003).
This growth has created large college-like institutions in Spain that often do not address the needs of their students.
It was the personal experience of Steven Muller (The Netherlands 1965) that triggered him to set up Babylon Idiomas in Barcelona, Spain as a small, personal and professional school. Teachers are university trained and have years of experience teaching Spanish to foreigners.
Equally important to Babylon Idiomas is the service outside of the classroom. Says Steven Muller "The majority of our customers are young women traveling by themselves and for some, the anxiety of arriving in a new city where they do not speak the language yet can take away from the overall enjoyment of learning Spanish." The school has therefore established a dedicated customer services desk where students are helped in English with all their questions relating to their stay or to the city of Barcelona.
Babylon Idiomas offers intensive Spanish courses for all levels and with a flexible duration of 1 to 26 weeks. The school is located in a magnificent building in the centre of Barcelona and features a communal room and large outdoor terrace that gives the school a homely feeling.
