GOODBYE GIRL FRIDAY SAYS HELLO TO SHOWCASES, COMPILATIONS AND NATIONAL AIRPLAY

NEW YORK. . .1/27/03. . .New York-based Goodbye Girl Friday, known for their sophisticated fusion of classic jazz and modern rock, ring in the new year with airplay on more than 100 radio stations nationwide, special invitation to showcase in the select 7th Annual Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, Pa., and a coveted spot on the upcoming Disc Makers CD compilation.

The 7th Annual Millennium Music Conference will be held February 12-16 in Harrisburg, PA and features respected guest speakers, discussion panels and showcases by bands from across the US. Goodbye Girl Friday, who were chosen for the conferences annual compilation cd, perform on Saturday, February 15 at Scott's Grille, beginning at 11pm.

The band's acclaim stretches beyond the northeast. "Goodbye Girl Friday are obviously talented musicians", says music journalist Wade Paschall of St. Louis Playback,"and they have managed to carve out a unique sound, which is especially refreshing these days."

Goodbye Girl Friday's momentum picked up at a furious pace this fall as radio stations by the dozen began adding the album into regular rotation. Now receiving airplay on more than 100 stations, they can be heard almost anywhere in the country.

The hard-working trio- comprised of David Sherman (vocals/keys), Dan Grennes (bass), and Andy Sanesi (drums)- is now in the studio recording their next album. Some of these new tunes can be heard on WVIA's Homegrown Music program this February.

"People have really been responding to the new songs at our live shows," says singer/songwriter/keyboardist David Sherman. "We're very excited to hear how they translate in the studio."

The band will be playing in Manhattan at the C-Note on Wednesday, January 29th beginning at 8pm.

Later this spring, Goodbye Girl Friday, along with linger (Atlanta) and Westover (Nashville), will be performing Saturday, March 15 at the Nashville New Music Conference/Michelle Herrington Public Relations Showcase in Austin, TX concurrent with South By Southwest. The showcase will be at the historic Maggie Mae's and is invitation only.
