Cloudpad Taking The "Pressure" Off Diabetes Sufferers, Hospice-Bound

Previously unavailable to consumers, proprietary Isogel mats provide protection against growing epidemic of pressure sores among diabetics and those in nursing home and hospice care settings.

TAMPA - Originally developed for the comfort of surgeons forced to stand for long periods of time during tedious operations, Cloudpad' is a 20" X 20" mat filled with the scientifically advanced urethane elastomer substance, Isogel.

The product is now available to consumers for the first time and will be seen in the upcoming issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.

The gel filled pads are being touted as a new tool in the fight against the epidemic of debilitating bed/pressure sores among America's ever-growing population of diabetics and the elderly.

Because Cloudpad is bio-engineered to mimic human collagen elastic fibers, pressure points are eliminated--leaving consumers free to enjoy activities without the worry of nagging pain and soreness. Simple foam pads or 'anti-fatigue' mats fail to eliminate pressure points, rendering them virtually worthless as a deterrent to pressure sores.

Cloudpad is only one-half inch thick, yet weighs a sturdy eight pounds, providing a stable cushion of Isogel that wont shift or slide during use.

"We're excited about the potential uses of Cloudpad," said Aaron Mitchell, who co-founded the company along with Dr. Helen Mabry, a surgeon based in Tampa. "Millions of workers around the world suffer from a class of ergonomic injuries called 'musculoskeletal disorders'...these injuries contribute to lessened productivity, and add to the skyrocketing costs of healthcare. Cloudpad is perfect for any light manufacturing or assembly plant setting."

Suggested uses of Cloudpad;
