"ONE WORLD BEAT- MAKING MUSIC A DIFFERENCE"
One World Beat is an international organization of musicians of all styles and levels taking part in a worldwide festival to raise awareness and funds for global and local charitable projects.
The music industry has a long tradition of occasionally looking beyond the strobe lights and the flash pots and helping those in need. Look at USA for Africa, Band Aid or Bono. Now, with One World Beat, every musician, not just the superstars can get involved.
We see the One World Beat festival as an opportunity for local musicians, bands and venues to participate in a global music project - for a good cause.
Music has the power to inspire and move, and this power can be harnassed to help those who are less fortunate. By joining their fellow artists around the world on the festival weekend, they'll not only be celebrating music, expanding their audience and having a good time, they'll also be making a difference.
"The idea of giving musicians the possibility to be part of a humanitarian project in a direct way was a natural one to me," says Andy Treichler, founder of One World Beat. "After all, so much music is about changing the world, about making it better. I see One World Beat as a way to allow musicians like myself to do something more than just sing about making a difference. Now, we have an opportunity to actually do it.The One World Beat is very thankful to Hamptons Entertainment Group and indeed to all the participating artists for their support towards the first global music festival."
On the first weekend of spring 2003 (March 21-23) musicians, bands, singers and music students will perform simultaneously around the world in the One World Beat festival. Artists of all styles and levels can participate in the festival. The funds raised will be donated to a charity of the participant's choice or a global aid project chosen by One World Beat. One World Beat unites all music styles -- rock, pop, hip-hop, blues, country, jazz, folk, alternative and all other forms of musical expression. One World Beat gives an opportunity to established and up-and-coming artists alike to participate in the global project by organizing a benefit event. One World Beat is growing every day. Enthusiastic people from around the world are signing up to support the project and help organize events.
"There are no barriers in Music. There is the 'good' and the 'not so good'! Likewise we as people - one 'good,' the other one 'not so good.' But even the 'not so good' can be sometimes excused due to ignorance.
"Color of skin, choice of religion, etc. should be of no interest to us in how we judge each other.
"I wish the One World Beat festival 2003 the best of luck." -Phil Collins, musician.
The One World Beat Music Festival has received a further boost with the confirmed participation of Hamptons Entertainment Group (HEG), a New York - based music talent agency.
On March 21st, 2003 Hamptons Entertainment Group recording artists Megan Wilder & Carly will stage a benefit show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Phoenix, AZ., along with a special guest performance by Black Dog Promotions recording artist Heat, with others to be announced.

" When Sully of Bone Yard 6(another HEG artist) mentioned this event to me, i jumped at the chance to be a part, and help the founder of One World Beat do achieve his one simple goal: To make a difference in some way. That "way" is through music, one of the strongest ways of bonding people....even if one person is in New York, and the other in Africa, we will simply be..."ONE WORLD BEAT"......Rock On"!
