The George Mason University Alumni Association hosted its Annual Celebration of Distinction Awards dinner to recognize and honor several alumni, students, and faculty for their outstanding achievements. The Telecommunications Master of Arts Program Outstanding Alumni Award was presented to Gal S. Borenstein, M.A. Telecommunications '94. Borenstein launched The Borenstein Group, one of few Washington, D.C., area advertising agencies that specialize in technology marketing and advertising.
Gal Borenstein, President of The Borenstein Group, says "George Mason University and the Telecom program's founder, Professor Mike Kelley, had the vision that few academic leaders had at the dawn of the Internet. I particularly credit Professor Kelley with creating an innovative graduate program that not only gave me the foundation to succeed in business but empowered me and many of my fellow graduates to understand where technology and business management objectives meet. The Borenstein Group, in large part, was created and inspired by the possibilities that only quality education can offer."
