THE ATLANTA BLACK AGENDAS BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTER TURNS ONE YEAR OLD

Melting the myth the White mans ice is colder, through faith, business and ministry

ATLANTA, GA– The Atlanta Black Agenda Business Resource Center (PRWEB) March 12, 2003 -Atlanta will celebrates their first celebratory gala on April 4, 2003 at the *New Georgia International Convention Center at 7:00pm. Even if you are not sure of who Dottie peoples is, you most likely heard somebody singing, Hes an On Time God, Yes He is oooohh, on time God, yes he is." Then they holler, May NOT COME WHEN YOU WANT HIM!" They are not sure who sings the song but they are just so excited about it.

The Business Resource Center was founded in 2001 to remedy the social, political and economic challenges which hampered the growth and stability of progress in the Black Community. The challenge to increase the revolution of the Black dollar has as much of an impact on the survival our people as Harriett Tubman; leading our people out of bondage, Joseph, rose to the top in a foreign land to forgive and save a nation. The BRC presents an opportunity for survival against all odds through dedication to our churches, businesses and our communities," said executive director, Edith C. Bawn.

The BRC and the BRC churches hope to attract additional churches and congregants who understand the need to support Black businesses. The BRC works with other organizations to increase our share in the black economy. The goal is to circulate money in the Black Community --- our own money in our own community," said Aaron Turpeau, Chairman of the BRC.

The Business Resource Center addresses two problems, which hamper Black economic power. The first issue is lack of awareness of businesses available. This problem is solved through direct local business communication, education, and advertisement within the very fabric of the Black community, our places of worship; our churches and mosque. Secondly, the BRC introduces the arbitration strategy, which dispels the myth that the White mans ice is colder by incorporating arbitration into the membership agreement. Consumers experiencing unsatisfactory products or service from a BRC business can file a complaint with the BRC. Arbitration in Georgia is legally binding so that any BRC business has already agreed to guarantee their product or good service.

The Business Resource Center offers a great opportunity for the church and the consumer to consider using businesses within our community and our congregations. The Business Resource Center offers the community on the spot referral information by phone, email, fax or snail mail. The official publication, The Conductor, is distributed quarterly to over 500 local churches and eleven MARTA stations. The BRC website, [www.brcatl.com] provides a central information center for all church and mosque news, local events, community articles, suggested book club titles, and the business directory. This publication services all denominational lines.

All qualified businesses, pastors and church members should reserve complimentary tickets by at our website www.brcatl.com or call the Business Resource Center at 404-346-0808.
