New Version Of Excel Import Assistant for MS Access

New 4TOPS Excel Import Assistant for MS Access lets you transfer your Excel data to access in an easy and controlled way. Instead of entering data one by one from a spreadsheet or another source that can be converted into a spreadsheet, the users simply need to import data, thus saving enormous amount of time and money on data entry clerks. The wizard is typically used in situations such as a new Access system where data needs to be moved from Excel to Access or for regularly importing files from outside sources or from another system. By linking Access to your ODBC compliant database (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) you can just as easily use the wizard to transfer Excel data into that.

4TOPS announces the release of Excel Import Assistant for MS Access. This MS Access add-in lets you transfer your Excel data to access in an easy and controlled way.

The wizard interface automatically matches Excel columns with Access table layout. The user can then make changes such as ajusting prematched columns, specifying fixed column value or ignore column. The user can then either add records one at a time, or, if he's satified with the result, all in one go. When an import problem occurs, such as wrong type of value, the wizard stops and suggests the user what may be the cause and what he can do. The user fixes the problem and lets the wizard continue processing. It's fun to see the wizard at full-speed adding the records one after another as if you were having a 2.4 Gigaherz secretary retyping all the data for you! New in version 5 is the ability to import multiple files or sheets in one go. If suppress messages is selected all rejected records are copied into a failed import file where the user can correct them to subsequently re-import. The add-in can be used both for insertion of new data and replacing / correcting existing field data.

Excel Import Assistant for MS Access is available for Access versions 97, 2000 and XP.
