Dubai UAE March 11th 2003: The Ninth GCC e-Government, Telecom and Internet Forum opening at Dubai from 10-14 May 2003 will discuss some of the pressing technology and implementation issues that are awaiting e-Government projects. With a focus on the skills, applications and technology needed for regional GCC e-government projects, this event bring together public sector and industry partners to identify opportunities, create innovative solutions and implement effective online citizen services.

The forum primarily focuses on e-Government programs of GCC governments which are at various stages of implementation, while some claim that their efforts are on par with the developed countries of the world there are many others who are in the very early stages of implementation.

The e-Government projects are aimed to directly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the governments transactions through the use of improved technology. Once established these E-Government initiatives will eliminate redundant systems, and significantly improve the governments quality of service for citizens and businesses. Some of the sessions that are coming up at the forum include Managing & Implementing E-government Projects, Role of process re-engineering, Security concerns & storage issues.
