Animation Veteran Breakiron Joins Serious Robots, a 3-D Animation and Visual Effects House

Charlie Breakiron, a Nationally Recognized 3-D Animator, Relocates to Raleigh, NC, and Re-Directs BREAKIRON Animation&Design Business to Serious Robots

Phoenix, Arizona — Mar. 7, 2003 — Charlie Breakiron, sole proprietor of BREAKIRON Animation&Design, today announced his pivotal decision to join Serious Robots, a cutting-edge 3-D broadcast animation and visual effects organization. Breakiron is to relocate to Serious Robots headquarters in Raleigh, NC, in April 2003.

In his new role as lead animator, Breakiron will be heading up all 3-D computer graphics at Serious Robots. Breakiron was selected based on rich experience, longstanding expertise, his capabilities as an instructor and an invaluable synergy with the Serious Robots team.

Were tremendously enthusiastic about bringing Charlie on board. Hes a master of his craft, and his experience and portfolio are clearly outstanding," stated Scott Donley, executive producer at Serious Robots. Were working hard to enhance our talent roster, and are confident that Charlie will be the foundation for a strong organization. Having someone of his caliber join us is an acknowledgement of the top-quality company were building."

Breakirons ability to lead by example and create team synergy add to the objective benefit of his renowned expertise. Serious Robots anticipates Breakirons presence will draw individuals similar to himself to the shop.

It was amazingly good fortune that I found Serious Robots. Scott Donley has a hard-working team of skilled animators who strive for unified goals and have fun doing it! I look forward to my new position and also know my prior professional contacts are only an e-mail away." said Breakiron, who initially found leaving his current situation quite difficult. I had adapted my business model and was accepting freelance work across the U.S., which took me away for weeks or more at a stretch. This year I was determined to bring balance to family, friends and workplace by signing on with a firm full-time. I will sorely miss Arizona — Ive thoroughly enjoyed living and working here."

Originally Breakiron had been referred to Serious Robots as a freelance artist. Having invested in state-of-the-art equipment, the division was seeking experts to deliver superior quality work that would yield exceptional results.

Charlie is nationally ranked talent," stated Tom Waring, CEO of Trailblazer Studios, the parent company of Serious Robots. When he first came in, his outstanding capabilities were obvious immediately. He also generated great chemistry with our team. After only several days it was clear Charlie was the caliber of artist we need. Hes also very well-respected in the industry, and he has numerous contacts. Were hoping to put together a dream team at Serious Robots — and Charlie will be an integral part of that."

As of April 15, 2003, organizations seeking to leverage Breakirons talent can do so through Serious Robots by contacting Breakiron at charlieb@seriousrobots.com.
