Sponsor An Artist Program Debuts to Give
The Next Van Gogh His First Break -- And a Buck
The Sponsor An Artist Program - an innovative way to match emerging artists with the financial backing of art patrons, will offer emerging artists the opportunity to have their work available for sale to the widest audience possible in the shortest period of time.
PALM SPRINGS (Calif.) — The Visual Arts Foundation announced today the launch of its Sponsor An Artist Program, an innovative way to match up emerging artists with the financial backing of art patrons.
This is a new twist on a time-tested idea that will help artists market their art and pay dividends for investors," said Arnold White, director of The Visual Arts Foundation and a veteran art consultant and fine art print publisher.
"Many artists just dont have the resources or expertise to reach art publishers," White said. Our idea is to help an artist get into the print market and also provide a good investment for the artists sponsor."
"This is a wonderful way to help a struggling artist launch a successful career and this is where the money is," he said.
"Artists for the most part are not business people. They are gifted in the creative end, but lack the skills necessary to get their product seen, marketed and sold."
White said, "The Sponsor an Artist Program will offer emerging artists the opportunity to have their work available for sale to the widest audience possible in the shortest period of time."
This is how The Sponsor An Artist Program works:
- An art patron selects one of the artists among 200 that are showcased on sponsoranartist.com or they may provide their own artist.
- With an investment of $17,500, the art patron will receive three to six original art pieces to keep, sell or to make available for fundraising events. The art patron also receives the publishing rights to 150 signed and numbered prints of each original art piece.
- The art patron also receives four prints of each image published.
- artist will receive $5,000 to $7,000 for the original art pieces given to the art patron," White said. He or she also gets signing royalties for all published prints." The remaining funds are invested in marketing and promotion.
- Visual Arts Foundation will publish each original as a signed and numbered limited edition Giclée art print. Each edition will be limited to 150.
- Visual Arts Foundation will design and maintain a Web site for the artist to showcase their current work. This site will be for the art patrons exclusive use and for the promotion and marketing of the artist.
- help market the artist for the art patron as well as the artist, the Visual Arts Foundation provides public relation services and promotional material, including professionally designed brochures and biographies.
- implement and organize the public relations in the local markets, helping to publicize gallery and fundraising events," White said.
- art patron benefits by the resale of the original art pieces and prints, while the artist benefits from having marketing exposure, immediate income and signing royalties.
"Art patrons can also receive tax benefits by donating portions of the art for fundraising events," White said.
- hope the sponsors main interest will be in advancing the career of the artist, but we have also made sure that the program is an excellent investment," he said.
White is a successful publisher and distributor of art work from some of Americas most noted artists, including Erte, Charles Wysocki, Frank Howell, and Mario Cepedes among others.
