COMPANY OFFERS SENIORS DISCOUNTS ON BRAND-NAME PRESCRIPTION DRUGS Savings Average from 40 to 70 Percent

Company provides brand-name prescription medications to senior citizens at discount prices from Canada. Customer service is key; company founded by 70-year-old entrepreneur.

ATLANTA, GA (March 24, 2003) — Two years ago, Atlanta resident Edwin Berger paid $2,000 a year for prescription drugs for his wife and himself, both in their 70s. Last year, when his bill topped $4,000 he went to work, researching ways to save money. Through a friend in his walking club, he learned about Medications-Cheaper, a company based in Atlanta, Ga., which helps seniors and others obtain prescription drugs from Canada at savings averaging 40 to 70 percent off U.S. retail prices.

Ive never seen prices rise so fast," said Berger, a retired businessman, explaining that the price of one pill went from $1 to $3.15 in just two years. I thought that if I could save 40 percent or more on our prescriptions, it would be worth looking into. So, I talked to my doctors about getting my medications from Canada, and they said it was perfectly safe."
Medications-Cheaper provides service for seniors on Medicare and others who dont have prescription drug insurance or have to pay retail prices due to a pre-existing condition. Prescriptions are ordered by mail and telephone, and are shipped directly to the customers home.

We pride ourselves on giving personalized service to every customer," said Brian Abrahams, president of Medications-Cheaper (www.medications-cheaper.com), a senior himself, who founded the company because he was faced with the same predicament as Berger. Many seniors dont use the Internet and want to talk to a ‘live person. We are happy to take the time to explain our service in detail and to get to know our customers."

The prescriptions are both brand-name medications and generics, which are the same Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved medications as those prescribed in the U.S. Medications-Cheaper uses carefully selected and licensed pharmacies in Canada that have exclusive relationships with the company.

Abrahams, 70, started the company after searching for an alternative to the high cost of medications, since his Medicare benefits did not cover prescriptions. He learned that many people in the Northeast were going to Canada to purchase their prescriptions at greatly reduced prices. After carefully researching the process, he founded Medications-Cheaper to offer the same opportunity to individuals throughout the country. The amount of savings depends on the specific medication; however, the price for brand-name drugs is frequently at least 50 percent lower than average local pharmacy prices.

Berger, who orders nine medications for himself and his wife through Medications-Cheaper, said, I like the personal touch and especially enjoy saving thousands of dollars each year."
