Victoria, British Columbia – March 23, 2003 - R. Bateman & Associates Inc. today announced the launching of their newest service offering, VITN – The Vancouver Island Trainer Network". The service provides a single, centralized resource for organizations or individuals who are looking for professional, qualified trainers.

Said owner Rick Bateman, In the past, if you were looking for someone with the skills and qualifications to deliver the training you or your organization needed, there was really no good resource to help you find them. Having been in this business for several years now, I can tell you that it was all done by word of mouth. Searching the Internet for specific skills and locally available trainers is fruitless and frustrating and the yellow pages are virtually useless.

As a trainer myself, I went through the exercise of creating a professional looking presence on the web for myself and my associates and a little research soon made it apparent there was a big need for this in the trainer industry as a whole. I decided to create a kind of trainer portal, something that does not currently exist. I started out with what I know, which is business and computer training, but I had a vision all along of expanding it into other industries. When Val Thompson, a national rowing champion and one of the islands elite personal trainers approached me about being on the site, I decided to start opening it up to these other channels.

I have given it an island focus because I believe thats the scope that is appropriate for the local trainers and their clients. Any trainer who is willing to deliver training on the island is welcome to send me their information and I will create a profile page for them. There is no charge or monthly or annual fee. If the site brings them a training contract they pay a small percentage. So only if they are seeing revenue from the site do they pay for their presence there. There are no contracts, this is a trust based business.

The trainer community has really come out in support of this and considering the fact that we just started up a month ago and have done almost no promotion or marketing yet we are really impressed with the level of participation. Were confident well achieve our goal of winning the top of mind position in this market."
