Dreaming Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization announces its Grand Opening and first fundraising gala to support the efforts of a new organization in Los Angeles inner city.
LOS ANGELES, CA- March 28, 2003-- The Foundation has set the date for Sunday, April 27, 2003 to celebrate the beginning of a new effort. A Throwback to the 80s is the first in a number of theme parties sponsored by the Dreaming Foundation. The founding members of the organization feel that for the targeted demographic of the association, the 80s represent an era of innocence. Innocence and naiveté is what Dreaming Foundation is striving to invoke in its members. The drive that comes from youth and fearless determination is what makes the impossible, possible. A Throwback to the 80s will gather members, contributors, and guests in an event given to inspire people to remember their dreams by remembering a time that represented, for many, endless expectations.
Dreaming Foundation, a two-fold organization, is designed to help all that are involved. Our mission is to help participants realize their dreams by guiding them towards the proper career building resources. Dreaming Foundation will also time serve core members and youth participants in enrichment by offering an array of programs in literacy development, seminars, classes, open forum discussions, and events that showcase individual skill and intended vocation. The Throwback to the 80s party will take place in April to commemorate a new endeavor set by Dreaming. Enrichment programs and activities will provide members with the knowledge and skill necessary to succeed in a highly competitive society.
Dreaming plans to develop cultural awareness and literacy among participants while guiding members towards taking the proper steps necessary to accomplish their goals. There will be a quarterly self-improvement reading schedule for adults that will include all types of reading material. At the end of the quarter participants will gather for a luncheon discussion with peers. Other adult programs will include computer and Internet education as it pertains to self-set goals and how such skills relate to overall success.
The youth enrichment programs will differ in that they will focus primarily on individual interests as well as inspiring career choices for those who are undecided. Private and group tutorial services for students, literature suggestion, and economic education classes will be amongst different types of support available to our youth. While the youth programs will be perpetual, there will be open forum discussions to serve as an opportunity for youth participants to voice their opinions, air their concerns, and otherwise speak freely among their peers.
Dreaming Foundation has found its niche in the community where it is needed the most. Upon observation, Dreaming has noticed that in general large portions of the community are not realizing their dreams and aspirations. Dreaming Foundation intends to inspire people to strive to achieve the unattainable. The deficit of positive examples of ordinary people are lacking in the urban community. By linking core member and youth participants in the same organization it will set a precedent in the foundation, and administer a symbiotic relationship between both groups.
